Raageshwari Gas Terminal (RGT) has been certified ‘5S’ in ‘par excellence’ rating by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI). This is a first for Cairn Oil & Gas, and paves the way for rest of the terminals to follow suit. After receiving this certification, Cairn joins the elite ‘5S’ league, along with other Vedanta group companies. ‘5S’ or ‘good housekeeping’ involves the principle of waste elimination through workplace organisation. ‘5S’ was derived from the Japanese words seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu and shitsuke, which mean – sort, set in order, clean, standardize, and sustain, respectively. Housekeeping impacts efficiency, productivity, and above all, safety and safe behaviour. This achievement has been possible only because of consistent hard work by our entire site team, supported by the HSE team and Sanjay Chhibber.
