A famous quote says “Take small steps every day and one day you will get there”. Recently, Cairn oil & gas successfully exited FY 18 at production volumes in excess of 200 kboepd and sustained the volumes. Rajasthan fields performed phenomenally well with an average production of 174 kboepd. This has been achieved by various measures like successful completion of the Mangala infill campaign where 15 new wells were drilled, new wells in NI, successful completion of production enhancement activities and CB infill drilling. Our new dynamic organisation structure, empowering and collaborative environment will further accelerate our pursuit to produce 50% of India’s oil & gas in times to come.

The safety and protection of oil & gas pipelines is important for the system, people & environment. In a first of its kind project for an oil & gas company in India, Cairn is moving ahead with aerial survey of RoU by drones. The pilot project to carry out aerial survey of around 640 km long and 30 m wide pipeline corridor from Barmer to Bhogat, was kicked off in Feb 2018 with an objective to find out the health of RoU. The survey was carried out by leveraging drone technology based imaging like HD video, orhtomaps, digital elevation modelling etc. The raw data will be processed using artificial intelligence based software to convert it into smart reports which will enable senior management to make fast, accurate and informed decisions. The technology is many times safer and non-Invasive as compared to traditional methods of pipeline & RoU corridor survey like foot-patrol, line walk and helicopter-based aerial survey. Swaths of land can be covered by drones in almost no time while the management of the company can view the entire RoU in a centralized command & control centre.
